But what about the home of the host itself, Kevin McCloud?

Where does Kevin McCloud live?
Despite Grand Designs airing since 1999, the host of the home improvement show has never shared pictures of his own abode .
Kevin lived in a 500-year-old farmhouse in Somerset with wife Suzanna before their divorce.
It was reported he left the family home but is unclear if he moved back into the house after their divorce in 2019.
The house came with 20 acres on which he grew vegetables and trees
According to The Mirror, Kevin lives in Frome, Somerset.
Kevin grew up in a village in Bedfordshire, and revealed in an interview with The Mirror that his first job was doing a paper round in Dunstable.
It was here that Kevin found an interest in architecture, being inspired by his schools’ period buildings.
Did Kevin McCloud build his own house?
It is unknown if Kevin has built his own home despite his passion for architecture.
The architecture that inspired his career comprised of 1930s semis, 1940s bungalows and a 1950s estate.
As stated above, he lived in a 500 year old farmhouse, but it is not known if he renovated it himself.
His two oldest children, Hugo and Grace, were featured in The Modern House after they built “a contemporary interpretation of a traditional terraced house in south-east London”.
What have Kevin McCloud said about showing off his own home?
Viewers would believe that McCloud would want to show off his humble abode to the world.
But this couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Kevin’s is known for judging other people’s architectural designs.
However he has said that he will not be sharing views of his own home with the public.
He told The Mirror, that if viewers saw his home they would see it was “incredibly dull”.
He told The Daily Mail in 2010: “I don’t think I’m a celebrity.”
He added: “It’s important to maintain a bit of mystique.
“The more of your private life you put into the public domain, the smaller your private life becomes.”
However, Kevin gave fans a hint of what his home is like telling the Daily Telegraph: “I’m terribly fastidious.
“I like symmetry and neatness, but my house is as chaotic as any other family’s.”
